At a certain point, art becomes a process of un-learning and letting-go in order to be fully present and aware. In this state of naked, unfiltered awareness, true seeing can occur. This is true seeing with one's entire being; not just the eyes. In this state, the seer and the seen become one. The French philosopher Paul Valery said it best, “To see is to forget the name of the thing one sees.”
